Chrysal loves attending and supporting Society of American Florist Convention for many reasons.  Connecting with floral friends, listening to the needs of floral professionals and most importantly for the education seminars.  One of the most exciting seminars is the 2016 Flower Trends Forecast by IFD.  Bill Schaffer & Kristine Kratt did an amazing job sharing the flower trends for 2016.  The full forecast will be released on October 1 & can be found at http://www.flowertrendsforecast.com.

Here are some of the designs and gorgeous flowers that were introduced & some pictures from the #safconv in Amelia Island, FL.

Here’s a little recap from Chrysal at the WF&FSA convention:

The Wholesale Florist & Floral Supplier Association (WF&FSA) held its annual Floral Distribution Conference this weekend in Miami, FL, the nation’s hub of flower logistics.  This annual event by WF&FSA helps provide networking and business opportunities to wholesale distributors and floral suppliers.  This conference is the gathering place for key members of the floral industry – wholesalers, growers, suppliers, logistics, transportation and more.  Over 200 members of the floral industry attended the event hoping to educate and network with other members of the industry.  A special thank you to Perfection for the beautiful flowers that were displayed at the Chrysal tabletop.

Those who stayed extra late to network or took a little longer taking down their displays were in for a treat.  Donald Trump himself happened to be at his resort last week and the Chrysal USA marketing team met him!  The Donald was all smiles when it came to longer lasting flowers and saving money with Chrysal.

Gold, silver, white make for the stunning compliments for any holiday arrangement. All year long we have seen a large amount of succulents in floral designs. So naturally we expect to see a lot of them this holiday season. The muted silvery tones of the texture rich plant mix wonderfully with traditional evergreens and other winter foliage.

Recently while in Seattle for ASCFG National Conference we loved seeing the different succulent wreaths and designs. It’s a great way to welcome your Holiday Guest with a LIVE plant that they you can replant in your gardens or theirs! Another popular idea is using Succulents in clear glass ornaments, living ornaments are Green and GORGEOUS!

We recommend that when you cut succulents for floral arrangements or wreaths that you clean the roots and wire the stems. Keeping succulents in the pot and using them for centerpieces is also a great way to gift your guest these little beauties.

Here are a few other pictures that we collected at Seattle Wholesale Growers Market!

Here is some information on Seattle Wholesale Growers Market:
Nineteen flower farms from Washington, Oregon and Alaska belong to this producers’ cooperative, born of a brainstorm at the ASCFG 2010 Regional Meeting. The cooperative is dedicated to revitalizing the Northwest cut flower industry by directly marketing local crops. Located in the original Rainier Brewery building, it is open three days a week to professional floral buyers, whose fall purchases can include decorative kale, bittersweet, Peterkort roses and lilies, snowberry, curly willow, wreaths and decorative squash and gourds.

Over 800 wholesalers, suppliers and industry leaders gathered on October 24 through 26 at the Doral Resort in Miami for Wf&Fsa annual Floral Distribution Conference. Here are some pictures of the amazing events & flowers.

During the IPM in Essen last January, we organized a game at our booth. Visitors were asked to fill in a form to point out the differences between Chrysal treated and non treated flowers and plants.

We had two winners of the iPad: Johan Hassing of Flower Direct and Bert de Jong of Sierex (Ciccolella). Both were really surprised and very happy to get such a present of Chrysal.  A nice gesture of Bert; he gave the present away to Yvonne, his right hand! Make sure to visit Chrysal at the next industry fair to learn about our products and maybe win an ipad.

Expoflora is the largest exhibition of flowers and plants in Latin America.  This annual flower show in Holambra,Brasil, a Dutch-founded city that’s the country’s largest flower producer.  Besides a great display of flowers and plants, there are music performances and traditional dances of the Netherlands, Dutch cuisine contest, landscaping and rain of petals each afternoon.

The event takes place during the month of September, this year Chrysal sponsored the flower sales stand with sachets. Margriet Kroon, a Chrysal International Technical Consultant, captured these wonderful images for us to share.

This year, Holambra was officially recognized by Brazil president Dilma Rousseff as the National Flower Capital.  Holambra was started in 1948 when group emigration fromHolland took place. Whole groups of families emigrated to Brasil after the second world war. Nowadays Holambra is the centre of the flower production and trade and still has a strong link with Holland.
